Legato Community Music was founded by Elizabeth Schrader. Hi! That’s me.
I am a board-certified music therapist, special educator, harpist, and mom. I care about finding meaningful ways to help people connect with each other. I began Legato Community Music to do just that!
In 2020, I completed the Music Together® Teacher Training, and I was sold! The music is fun, and the goal of helping people of all ages joyfully make music is something I share. Now that I am a licensed center director and registered teacher, I am excited to offer these classes as we are able to meet safely in community again.
I have frequently played my instruments (harp and piano) to support in-person gatherings, such as weddings, fundraising events, community gatherings, and even funerals. I have found that thoughtfully adding music can help set the tone and create opportunities for people to connect.
As mentioned, I’m also a board-certified music therapist and Neurologic Music Therapy (NMT) fellow. I have experience with a variety of populations including folks with dementia, autistic individuals, and those receiving hospice care.
